Building the habits of a learner
What happenshere
Reading, writing and number take hold here, alongside the quieter lessons: how to listen, how to try again, how to work beside someone else.
Primary is where curiosity becomes capability. Students move from learning to read to reading to learn, and from counting to reasoning. Every class has a form teacher who knows each child well, supported by specialist teachers for English, Sinhala, Tamil, mathematics, science, ICT, music, art and physical education. Assessment at this stage is continuous rather than examination-driven — we are watching for progress, not ranking.
